First show in 2011 10/01/2011
Here's the dealio:THE SUBSEQUENTS, RICOCHET PETE (SA), HARVEST SMOKE(feat. STU from Sons of Lee Marvin) Afternoon/early Evening show, starting at 5PM. IDGAFF has a pretty good vibe for a small joint, and many drinks in the sun (hopefully) will make this one some damn good fun/trouble. Not to mention the awesome bands that are gonna stink up the place: Ricochet Pete are over from Adelaide and always bring their A-game, Harvest Smoke is Stu from SOLM's new band so you know that will be great unless you're an idiot. And The Subsequents are back from a little hiatus, now with one of Melbourne's finest drummers, making this a power-trio (without the associated wank - like the police) to lose your shit to. The good news is: if you already had plans for this night, you now have an excuse to start drinking earlier and practise yelling abuse at under-paid, hard-working musicians, before you go to your Book Club meeting or the Twilight Saga Appreciation Society Gala Ball or other such esteemed events. The Great news is: I'll be there, so you won't be the ugliest person at the joint. Add Comment Here we come, 2011. 01/12/2010
Our plan right now is to keep pumping out new tunes and to keep booking a whole lotta shows for the new year. Nothing is confirmed yet, so we'll be expecting the ball to start rolling good 'n proper by Feb at latest. In the meantime we'll keep plugging away at these bollocks-good new tunes and keep on fine tuning the machine. 2011 is looking mighty handsome indeed. Pictures up, new songs on boil.... 30/11/2010
I've managed to nail some pics up on the wall in here - thanks to Maggie for the camera work - and these ones have the new kid in 'em. Jim has absolutely smashed his way through two 'Subsequents sets now in pure sweaty style. We've been working hard on new tunes, and we will probably get some recordings out next year with Jim behind the kit. It will sound unreal, I assure you. For those not in the know - we just had our first show with new drummer extraordinaire, James Fowkes. He's the third drummer now, after our brief Canadian affair from late '09 to early 2010. So we popped Jim's Subsequent cherry at The Arthouse on saturday the 2nd of October 2010. Jim has brought The Subsequents sound a new level of intensity with some damn hard hitting and a some real tasty beats. He's just the drummer we were looking for - so this summer we're gonna hook up some awesome shows and make the most of our new energy and enthusiasm. Watch this space - here we go again.... |
